Creature Comforts cuts ribbon at new Southern Mill site
New Production Facility at Southern Mill in Athens, GA
“Creature Comforts Brewing Co. held a ribbon cutting on Monday to open their new Athens location.
The new production facility is in the historic Southern Mill complex on North Chase Street and is housed in a building originally constructed in 1900. The company purchased its new home in January 2017 and broke ground that April.”
“The production facility is designed to be a forever home for Creature Comfort’s large-scale production needs. Every room in the facility has space for added machines.
Adam Beauchamp, Creature Comforts’ brewmaster and co-founder, said that their new German-made brewhouse is three times bigger than what they have previously used and one of only six or seven systems like it in the country. The facility also includes an on-site laboratory.
Creature Comforts will unveil a tasting room at the Southern Mill location in the near future.
When the project was announced last year, Creature Comforts promised that the expansion would add at least 25 full-time jobs in the next five years, and the company has already filled more than half of those positions.”
